What are my privileges as an alumni? /as a community user?

  • Due to COVID-19, currently only students, faculty, or staff may enter the Library and the IRC Learning Center lab and/or use the Library's computers, databases, and other e-resources
  • Alumni may obtain an Alumni card that can be used to borrow books & DVDs.  They cannot access e-resources from off-campus.  
  • Community users who have a library card in good standing from an LMxAC library may borrow books from other LMxAC libraries and request Middlesex College books to be picked up at their home library using the Hold feature on the catalog. Community users may not use library databases from off-campus.

Where do I find my readings for English 121?

As an MCC student, faculty, or staff member, you will use your Middlesex email userid and password to log in to the MCC Wifi.

Connect to the WiFi named MCC

then login with the part of your Middlesex email address before the @  -- so if your email is jennyj567@my.middlesexcc.edu, you'd put in jennyj567

and the password you use with your Middlesex email (and Canvas)

If I am not a currently registered student, can I borrow books from MCC library?

If you have a library card in good standing from an LMxAC library you may borrow books, but not DVDs.   You cannot access e-resources from off-campus.  Please call the Circulation Desk at (732) 906-2561 to check if you are eligible. 

Alumni may obtain an Alumni card that can be used to borrow books & DVDs; alumni cannot access e-resources from off-campus.

Use the Library Catalog to search for books, eBooks, and DVDs.  (From the Library homepage, in the "Search and Find" box, click on "Books & DVDs" to access the Catalog.)

How do I renew my book or DVD?

DVDs cannot be renewed. Library books may be renewed for one three-week period in person, by phone, or through our Library Catalog unless another patron has requested to use it by placing a hold on it.  

To renew books, select Renew Books from the "Borrow and Request" section of the library homepage.  For further details, see the How to Renew guide.

  •     DVDs:  $.50 per day up to $10.00.
  •     Tablets: $5.00 per day up to $20.00.
  •     Headphones: $1 per day, up to $10.
  •     Reserve material:
    •     1-Hour Loan = $1.00 per hour up to $20.00.
    •     Same Day Loan = $5 per day, up to $20.00.
    •     24-Hour Loan = $5 per day, up to $20.00.

Having trouble loading one or more of the library's web pages from home

If you suddenly cannot access one or more of the library's pages (or other web pages at MCC), the first thing you should do is clear your browser cache. This removes old saved files and images from previous uses of the site(s) which may be interfering with your browser's ability to display the pages.

Instructions for clearing your browser cache vary depending on what brand and version of Internet browser you are using. (Not sure which browser you are using? Try visiting WhatIsMyBrowser.com.)

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  6. Click Clear data.

Note: clearing your cookies will also log you out of any website you are currently logged into, including the MyMCC services, Canvas, Gmail, Facebook, etc. on the computer.

  1. Select Settings and moreSettings 'Gear' Icon Settings  > Privacy and services .
  2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
  3. Choose a time range from the Time range drop-down menu.
  4. Choose the types of data you want to clear (see the table below for descriptions). For example, you may want to remove browsing history and cookies but keep passwords and form fill data.
  5. Select Clear now.
