We have a video tutorial for Sociological Abstracts that is geared specifically toward this assignment, and shows the various search limits that need to be used.
Just one minor caveat-- ProQuest's search screen has changed slightly since this was recorded; there is no longer a "scholarly journals" checkbox, so you have to use the "Source Type" window to limit to scholarly journals instead. Also, the professor is very specific about what counts as a sociology journal, so students should check with their professor before using any article they find, and perhaps have one or two additional articles as backups in case the first one doesn't get approved.
