Where can I find an electrical outlet in the library for my laptop or charger?
While the library and learning center has many desktop computers available for all to use, we understand that sometimes students may want to use their own laptops or charge other devices.
- Users who have their USB cables can plug into the USB ports in one of the desktops to charge mobile devices while working.
- The Library also has a limited supply of USB to lightning and USB to USB-C cables that can be checked out at the Circulation/front desk.
In the Learning Center, there are additional electrical outlets:
- Two computer tables by IRC 235 have power strips.
- The three bullet collaborative tables have 4-gang outlets underneath them.
- The quiet study area by to the left of the main learning center desk has an outlet and three carrels with power.
Electrical outlets that are powered are available in the following places in the library (these spaces are not available during the Fall 2024 roof construction):
Upper level:
- Most of the computer tables by the Ask A Librarian desk on the right and the first table on the left as you face the desk have power outlets for students to use. The outlets work with power plugs, USB cables, and USB-C cables.
- There are two adjacent power outlets along the upper back wall.
- Two outlets are in the wall next to the Quick Print station, in front of the Questions desk.
- (Unfortunately, none of the outlets in the upper level carrels are operable.)
Lower level:
- On the front wall, there is one outlet available.
- Six carrels with electricity and three outlets are in the quiet study room
- Seven carrels with electricity are in the quiet space by the fire exit/room 002.
- There are two outlets are available on the back wall: however, they create a tripping hazard and should be avoided.
